No engineering leader wants a silo – as an engineering leader myself, I should know, having built a successful team in Prague over the past two years. Silos represent a lack of communication – and communication is essential when listening to internal customers, responding quickly to feedback and, most importantly, delivering high-quality code with agility to the market. In our Prague office, we’ve established many practices to burst silos, but none more important than treating all teams, systems and tools as peers.

That’s why I’m consistently surprised at how few of our enterprise customers realize just how many tools are available. While they’re automating their own silos and stacks, few are aware just how much is available when it comes to automating the legacy side of the house. There are solutions for everything, such as COBOL and Java code maintenance and development housed in the mainframe platform. The vendor community has not sat still.

Together CA and Automic (now part of CA) have been named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Continuous Delivery and Release Automation, Q3 2017. Our vision is quite simply an end-to-end, mobile to mainframe approach to automating the toolchain, so your teams can communicate with the same tools to do the same work – across multiple platforms.

Today, you can:

  • Automatically build, test and deliver code changes to production across the enterprise. The CA DevOps for Mainframe solution enables your team to deliver with more efficiency, productivity, speed and repeatability
  • Get feedback loops with Automic Release Automation, driving improved quality and reduced mean time to resolution and reduced time to market
  • Visualize the continuous delivery pipeline from mobile to mainframe with Automic Release Automation
  • Integrate your mainframe source code in CA Endevor simply and efficiently into a continuous delivery process

As a customer recently told Forrester:

There is no consequential difference between mainframe applications and distributed applications; the same techniques, like continuous integration, test automation, and automated releasing, can be applied. (Application delivery manager, large financial organization)1

I invite you to check out the new Forrester Continuous Release Automation Wave and get in touch with us to learn more.
